Nell and Wade, on Laurel's deck

Your hosts

Two hosts, ten minutes away.

We're Nell and Wade Caudill. Wade grew up in Sevier County; Nell came for a fall weekend in 2009 and never really left. We bought our first cabin in 2014, rebuilt the second in 2017 and built the third from the ground up in 2021.

We live ten minutes down the mountain, we inspect every cabin ourselves after it's cleaned, and one of us answers every call and text.

Every season has its own view.

October weekends are usually booked by spring. Winter brings the quietest trails and our lowest rates of the year.

March to May

Spring

Wildflowers on every trail, waterfalls at their fullest, and the mountain laurel in bloom by May.

June to August

Summer

Creek days and long evenings. In early June, the fireflies blink in time in the national park.

Mid-October to early November

Fall

The color peaks at our elevation in late October. October weekends are usually booked by spring.

December to February

Winter

Snow on the high peaks, steam off the hot tub, the quietest trails and our lowest rates of the year.

Ten minutes to town, fifteen to the park.

Close enough for dinner downtown, far enough to hear nothing but the woods. Drive times are from the cabins.

What guests always ask

Is the hot tub cleaned between guests?

Every time: drained, scrubbed and refilled before each stay, and the water's tested the morning you arrive.

Do we need four-wheel drive?

Spring through fall, no — the roads are paved to the door. The drive up to Overlook is steep, and if snow is in the forecast we'll text you two days ahead; then you'll want all-wheel or four-wheel drive.

What's your cancellation policy?

Cancel 30 or more days before arrival for a full refund. Inside 30 days, we refund every night we're able to rebook.

Is there Wi-Fi?

Fast fiber internet in every cabin, enough for streaming and a video call.

Can we check in early?

When the cabin is free the night before, yes — from 1pm, for $40. Ask when you book.

Send us your dates.

Tell us the cabin, the nights and how many of you are coming. We'll text or email back within the hour while we're open, with what's free and a link to hold it.
